Founded in 1976, Floris Books is an award-winning independent publishing company based in Edinburgh, Scotland. We are the leading publisher of Steiner-Waldorf books in the UK, and the largest publisher of children's books in Scotland. You can now find our books sold throughout the world. Floris Books specialises in beautiful children's books and books for the Steiner-Waldorf and anthroposophical communities. We're also the proud English language publisher of beloved Swedish author-illustrator Elsa Beskow.

Awards and Accolades

Floris Books is a former Saltire Society Scottish Publisher of the Year. In the UK, our Kelpies books have won numerous awards including the Jhalak Prize, multiple Scottish Children's Book Awards, the Blue Peter Best Story Award and the Federation of Children's Book Groups book award. We have also had several books included in the Read for Empathy Collection, and have received shortlistings and nominations for the Kate Greenaway, the Carnegie Medal, the Scholastic Lollies and The Week Junior awards.

In the US, our picture books have been part of the prestigious New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Children's Book list and the Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection and regularly receive coverage and Starred Reviews from publications including; The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus Reviews and The School Library Journal.
