This is the classic story of two children who are sent into the woods. The first time, they follow a trail of stones back to the house, but the second time they use breadcrumbs, which are eaten by the birds. Lost and alone, they discover a house made from gingerbread. Will the inhabitant of the house help them?

-- The Green Parent

'This classic story by the Brothers Grimm is newly illustrated with beautiful watercolours and fine detail.'
-- Kindling

'This is a traditional and very readable retelling of the Brothers Grimm's fairytale, complimented by beautiful watercolour illustrations. Colours are very softly laid on paper enhancing the dreamlike quality of the story and the enchantment of the forest … This is a lovely new version of one of the most engaging of the Fairy Tales and will be popular with children aged 7-9.'
-- School Librarian Journal, Summer 2008
