In 1943, Richard Gregg published a small pamphlet on Companion Planting (still available today), which listed certain plants which seemed to affect each other both favourably and unfavourably, when grown near to each other. Helen Philbrick subsequently worked with the Greggs and later published this expanded edition.
This useful reference book is a detailed and comprehensive A-Z of plants and how they affect each other and their surrounding environment, including the soil, insects and birds. It will be of great value to farmers and gardeners alike.
