OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAfter 34 years of selling its unique selection of books, gifts and crafts, Edinburgh’s Helios Fountain will shortly be closing its doors for the last time. The Floris team have worked with the store for many years and were saddened to learn of its imminent closure.

Jos Bastiaensen, the shop’s owner, told STV Edinburgh that a decline in footfall in the Grassmarket area was part of the reason for his decision to call it a day, “I really love that little business and it is a great pity that it cannot survive but on the other hand I have to be realistic, I am in my 60s and not about to start competing with Amazon.”

Helios Fountain have been great supporters of Floris, stocking many of our books over the years. We wish Jos all the best for his future endeavors as we say a very fond farewell to Helios Fountain.
