Description

The hare thistle (or sow thistle) is a tall relative of the dandelion and was the inspiration behind the creation of this beautifully illustrated children's book. Gifted teacher and artist Gertrude Teutych's love for this special plant led her to create a story, to share its unique development with children.

Gertrude's pictures and words imaginatively explore the stages and formations of the plant, detailing how the plant changes and grows its jagged leaves, prickles, lines and dimpled bud heads as it develops.

This book will nurture a love for, and interest in, nature in young children. This is a helpful resource for teachers in the kindergarten and Class 1 and 2 (ages 6-8) in the Steiner-Waldorf curriculum.
