Here at Floris we&#8217;re obsessed with all things Scandinavian at this time of year &#8211; decorations, gifts and festive stories &#8211; so we&#8217;d like to share one of our favourite Christmas crafts from <a title=\"A Swedish Christmas\" href=\"http:\/\/www.florisbooks.co.uk\/book\/Caroline-Wendt\/Swedish+Christmas\/9781782500155\">A Swedish Christmas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These beautiful Swedish snowflake ornaments, which are made out of icing (yes, really!), are simple to make and will look stunning on any Christmas tree.<\/p>\n<h3>Materials (makes 10)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Egg white<\/li>\n<li>A few drops of vinegar<\/li>\n<li>250-300g icing sugar<\/li>\n<li>Castor sugar<a href=\"http:\/\/www.florisbooks.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/icing-ornaments1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-597\" src=\"http:\/\/www.florisbooks.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/icing-ornaments1.jpg\" alt=\"icing ornaments\" width=\"200\" height=\"275\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Ribbon<\/li>\n<li>Greaseproof paper or piping bag<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. Mix the egg white, vinegar and icing sugar together with a spoon. The icing should not be too runny or too thick.<br \/>\n2. Make a cornet out of greaseproof paper and secure with a pin so that it doesn&#8217;t unravel. Fill the cornet with icing and cut of the tip. (Or if you have one, you can use a piping bag.)<br \/>\n3. Sprinkle an even layer of castor sugar onto a baking tray. Pipe the icing in the shape of a star onto the castor sugar. Leave to dry for a day.<br \/>\n4.
