In the beautiful illustration above, the children are drinking home-made lemonade and wearing crowns of leaves and flowers. Why not try these fun and simple activities with your children this summer?<\/p>\n

Home-made Lemonade (serves 6)<\/h3>\n

\"Home<\/a>You will need:<\/p>\n

1 cup sugar<\/p>\n

1 cup water<\/p>\n

1 cup fresh lemon juice<\/p>\n

2-3 cups soda or sparkling water<\/p>\n

Instructions:<\/p>\n

1. Make a simple syrup by gently heating the water and sugar in a small saucepan. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, then remove from the heat.<\/p>\n

2. Juice the lemons. Depending on the size of the lemons, 4-6 should be enough to produce a cup of juice.<\/p>\n

3. Pour the juice and the syrup into a serving jug, and dilute using the soda water.<\/p>\n

4. Add more sugar or lemon juice as required, depending on how sweet you like your lemonade!<\/p>\n

5. Serve with ice and cubes of fruit.<\/p>\n

Summer flower crowns<\/h3>\n

These are super simple and fun to make! First, gather together some large leaves and flowers from the garden. Lay them out in a line long enough to wrap around your head (you might want to use a piece of string to measure). Then, use matchsticks (or small twigs) as pins to fix them together.\"Summer<\/a><\/p>\n
