Free Teacher's Guides

Supporting schools and teachers

As the largest publisher of children's books in Scotland, we have long-standing relationships with many schools and teachers. For several years, we have produced free Teacher's Guides to our Kelpies novels (for 8-12 year olds) and other selected titles. In addition, many of our authors regularly visit schools and children's book groups/clubs to share their passion for reading and writing. If you'd like to arrange an author visit for your school, email floris@florisbooks.co.uk and we'll work with you to make it happen.

Below is a complete list of all the Teacher's Guides currently available. You'll also find links to them from the individual book pages on this website. All guides are PDFs, so you'll need a version of Acrobat or PDF Reader to open and print them.

Please note: these guides were produced for the previous 5-14 Curriculum. They have not yet been updated for the Curriculum for Excellence. We hope that you find the ideas and activities in them useful anyway as general inspiration for class projects and exercises.
